There's a horizontal row of 5 small lights, which appear to be LED's, just above the high beam. Can't figure out what they are or how to turn them on. Does anyone know?
    Thanks

    No lights/LEDs there--just a design element.

design element. Kudos will go to the first person who figures out how to turn them into real LED lights (and maybe DRLs for the US folks)

Funny, I was just thinking about it. That angle is just right on them that they would make great DRLs with high intensity LEDs. Assuming you can find LEDs that were not directional and or some how point them forward. Winter project...

Thanks for your replies. Seems to be an odd place for a design element. Sure looks like it may have been intended for a LED light function at some point, and then maybe changed their mind. Looks like the perfect size for a LED. Would have made for a more interesting running light.

LEDs do point forward.. what do you mean?

Do you mean point sideways to they're visible from any angle except head-on?

Your right tideland they do point forward. I was thinking about the parking light that points up I guess. Anyway, looking forward to modifying the light when I get some free time. I am wondering if I should use high intensity or standard bright white 5mm LEDs. High intensity might be a bit too bright.

Ahh.. the city light that MB started off by dimly illuminating the high beam area with a small bulb that faces upward, right?

Hmm.... well the LEDs used in the Audis are quite bright. Are those the brightness of the high intensity ones?

Absolutely, the best quality, best modded headlights I have ever seen. Their quality is FANTASTIC. Now the bad side, it will certainly be more than 50 bucks :)

I think the light designer intended those to be audi-style daylight LED lights, but not a direction the car design team decided to implement. But it sounds like a great "do-it-yourself" project...

Just a word of caution to those who are attempting this mod. I know in CA any modification to oem lights are illegal. Something this obvious may get you cited. :mod: I think that would look great, but with my luck I'd probably get pulled over!
