I grew up using chamois. But with the recent popularity of micro fiber towels, seems like more are using micro fiber. What is your preference?

I prefer to use a dedicated blower. It's much faster, gets water out of every crack and crevice, and no contact with the paint means less swirls.

Good idea, although professional detailers tend to prefer Micro-Fiber over Chamois as chamois tends to hold tiny grit particles on the surface and grind them into the paint, whereas MF tend to lift them away (it's essential to make sure the MF is kept clean (rinsing and/or shaking) (I learned that on YouTube! ;) )

I have a neighbor across the street who dries his car, blows leaves, etc. with his dam blower. Sometimes very early in the morning.

It's not like he doesn't know it's loud, he wears ear protection earmuffs for crying out loud.

Sorry, rant over. Had... to.... vent.

I use a corded blower, although I never tried one, a battery operated blower should suffice.

I looked for one that really blows! :D

I always try to be considerate of my neighbors and the noises I make so they don't get mad at me.

No, a corded electric. Has a really high pitched whine to it.

Beginning now in the spring right through the fall I have a retired neighbor who daily uses a gas blower to accomplish nothing much other than fill his desire to make noise and create dust clouds. Annoying doesn't begin to explain it especially when you work rotating shifts...

He's not a bad neighbor in other regards, but he seriously has some freaking blower/my pavers and city street in front of my house aren't clean enough for some sick reason fetish.

Now like already said, rant off, lol.

I live in an apartment complex, and last year the local clean-up crew were blowing-leaves using those portable back-pack blowers (powered by tiny gas-motors used in chain-saws) spreading all the leaves around, in a deluge of pouring rain (can you believe it?) covering all the parked cars with a wet slurry of leaves. I took a video to show the management in the event of me coming outside and finding my car buried in leaves!

I use a corded electric leaf blower to knock 90%~ of the water off, then go over it with (don't laugh) flannel diaper cloths. You can buy them in a pack at Sears or wherever. They're good for buffing off polish as well, just soak them in water with a shot of ammonia and detergent after, then wash and they're good to reuse.

Before microfiber came out back in 'the day' I used to used them exclusively as well for removing my wax. Griots was my go to for them back then and they still sell them today (they're 100% cotton though from Griots):
