Been thinking about listing my car and wanted some feedback.

I have a 2005 base Prius with HOV stickers. Car has a clear title, free of accidents and has 88K miles. Some minor scratches here and there, nothing that really sticks out.
KBB lists the car at 16K.

    Any ideas?

There's another pricing tool, think it's called NADA guide.

I usually scope out similar cars to see what they are asking. Craigslist is good, also Autotrader, etc...

I see cars go in the 16-17k range. I'm trying to get 14K for mine and it's still slow moving..

If you'd sold 3 months ago, you could've gotten $20K for it in minutes. Now is not a good time to sell. Wait for summer.

Wait a year or so, and the HOVs will become collector's items. Are you in Los angeles or Lousiana? In LA they will be useless.

Check Ebay completed Prius sales. The ones that ended without a sale also let you know what is 'too much.'

So giving up driving or replacing it with something else?

If you wait another week (until after the new version is announced) you can knock-off another $ 1000, or more...

Expect to see $3/gal gas over the summer. Your car will be worth much more then.

You shoul use the used cars price calculator like this one:

    Ulster Cars - Valuation

Than you can compare the prices of other Priuses to check the millage. It worked for me. The calculator is helful if you have to negotiate the price and don't know what to start with.
