    Just curious how much ye have spent.

    I know one gentleman who has owned 4 of them since 2001..... one of each generation plus a plugin. He spent: ($20,000 - $10,000 trade for the G1) + ($25,000 - $10,000 trade for G2) + ($25,000 - $15,000 trade for G3) + $35,000 for the plugin == $70,000. Approximately.

    That's enough cash to buy a Tesla (which also provides free fuel at their stations). ;) So anyway how much have you spent?

    To date; $0. I'm looking though, and hope to drop about $15,000 on a gen 3 soon. I've never traded a vehicle, but I let a rear-ended 1996 Subaru Legacy go to the insurance company for $2,500.

    :)New to Prius within the last year, I got a great deal on a close out 2012 Prius Plug In. With the Gen 4 Prius around the corner, I see multiple Prii in my future.

    Oh so (29-14) + 29 == 44,000

    I prefer Stick Shift so I haven't bought a Prius. I've spent a few dollars on my hybrid habit: $14000 (insight 1) + $11000 (insight 2) + $8000 (civic) == $33000

    I thought about buying a 2006 accord hybrid but 40 mpg is just pathetic. I know its a powerful V6 but comeon..... instead I'll spend the money on a 2010 used Prius

    We entered this century with 2 minivans, replaced one with Prius and replaced one in kind.

    If you bought your first Prius at 29k and sold it back to the dealer for 14k that (29k-14k). If your second Prous also cost 29k then int total:

    (29k-14k)+29k == 44,000 total spent. (And I passed Calculus 3 with an A and Diff.Eq with A-.....I know math just fine :) .)

    2001, $6800 (still own), 2006, $10,000, traded for TCH was given $7500 for it, 2005, $6400.

    So 6800 + 10000 -7500 +6400 = $15700, Prius owner since summer of 2008.
