Lots of good info in this thread! Thanks for the front bumper removal diagram, SquallLHeart. I'm going to try removing my front bumper this weekend to replace the stock horn with a Bad Boy one I got. I was just wondering if there was anything else that needs to be removed/taken apart that is not shown in the diagram you posted. Also, after taking your front bumper off and putting it back on a couple of times, is there any looseness or are there any gaps now?

    Thanks!

Well, over the weekend I tried taking off the front bumper using that page from the repair manual without success... :( I believe I got all of the correct screws, bolts and grommets off however was unable to disengage all but the first claw on each side of the fenders. To remove these claws, do the front fender liners need to be removed? I couldn't find any access points to these claws.

Would anyone who’s taken off their bumper be able to give me a few pointers on disengaging these 4 claws on each side and the 2 under the headlights? Maybe I took off the wrong screws and bolts underneath? Thanks!

The inner fenders attach to the bumper, if I remember correctly from installing my fog lights...

    Thanks, SquallLHeart. ;)

Are you implying that the claws disengage by themselves when there is enough force to safely pull the bumper off? I guess I don't exactly know how claws work. It says not to apply excessive force when separating the front bumper, so maybe finding just the right amount of force when taking it off is the trick.

yea.. i just usually yank it out after removing all the necessary clips, screws, bolts.. whatever.. (all of the locations of those should be easily seen in the diagrams, even if the diagrams are too small to read)

the fenders especially, those are really just clipped in. haven't had too much fear in breaking anything, and i haven't seen too many incidents where you can pull too hard. good luck.

I'm stuck on steps 3 and 5. Can't find the "claws"
How do I pop the bumper off them?

The bumper cover wraps around into the wheel well just a bit. On that part in the wheel well, you will see a rectangular hole close to the seam between the cover and the fender. (Bottom bubble in step 3) It's between 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock on the driver side. Once you pull it off of that claw the rest comes off with gentle pulling.

. Was always my method too, however with the Pip and the C no Manuals appear to be forthcoming. What to do...............And I would really be interested in both.

I just went thru trying to rehang a front bumper. My C had metal damage behind the number, so that required a good body man. It appears that the bottom of the bumper must be supported first along with 3 plastic fasteners also at the top, then work sideways. The three clips at the
Top on each side are really flakey and a rediculous design. Like a Lego set except a Lego set is much stronger. If there Is any metallic structural damage you will need a expert. If there is a next time I would mark and identify each and every fastener. And make notes
