HUD blurry/foggy looking - Not on the outside, but inside the window

    Hi All, this has been bothering my since I got my Prius used, 2010.

    The HUD has this foggy look to it, at the time I didn't notice while at the dealer. I've had the car almost a month now and it's bothering me. I thought it was water vapor but it isn't.

    Will the dealer fix this? I do have Toyota Extra care platinum.. Is this a common problem?

    This is caused by mold from what folks have reported. The build up is on the interior screen. Some folks have had success with the dealer fixing it under warranty, some have taken their dash apart to clean the screen, some have had the dealer take the dash apart to clean the screen or replace the screen.

    Welp, fingers crossed then... just no idea how the hell it got like that. The car has been in arizona forever. Not like it's a humid place.

    I have this issue and both dealers in the area wouldn't fix it under my platinum warranty... :mad: Now my warranty is expired so debating on taking out my dash and fixing myself.

    I understand it's moisture, not fungus, but it was posted here before as fungus. If somehow the ac blows cold air in the vicinity, if could fog inside of this screen.

    It's not fog at all as it doesn't dissipate at all.. plus I live in arizona where it's sunny and dry

    That isn't the HUD BTW. A HUD projects onto the windshield.

    So I finally got to taking this in to the dealer.. they said it would cost me $495 as it's a labor intensive job. I asked them to check if it was under my Gold warranty and it is not.. ugh.

    Should I try other dealerships??

    No harm in looking at other dealers. I say go for it.
