Hybrid plug-ins up mileage and cost

    For those of you just tuning in, this is the 3rd anti-hybrid and/or anti-Japanese car article written by this fellow Alex Law. As you can see, he's uneducated cause he thinks plug-in hybrids are electric cars.

    By making the electric motor instead of the regular gas-powered engine the primary source of energy, hybrids would use a lot less gasoline than they do now, and that's the primary appeal of what are generally called "plug-in" hybrid vehicles.

    Of course, they would also have greatly reduced range and would need overnight recharging (that's the "plug-in" part), their costs would skyrocket because of their larger batteries, and the energy load would shift from gasoline to electricity, which can come from coal and nuclear power and not everyone's crazy about that.

    Essentially, plug-in hybrids are electric vehicles that can also use a gasoline engine to keep moving when their batteries go flat, which would probably happen a lot given the state of batteries today.

    It's hard to believe that after all these years someone in the automotive business still wouldn't understand how the hybrid system in Prius works. So it's pretty easy to conclude that an article like that one was intented to mislead.

    The claims of "they would also have greatly reduced range and would need overnight recharging" and "plug-in hybrids are electric vehicles that can also use a gasoline engine to keep moving when their batteries go flat" definitely support that... since range is actually extended, overnight recharging is not required, and the battery-pack will not go flat.

    And as usual, some negative concerns (cost & clean-electricity) were included to help to conceal that anti-hybrid activity. But it's not too hard to see that the concerns focused only on the short-term. Those of us working for the long-term aren't worried. Each seemingly impossible obstacle has been overcome up to this point.

    Well like I said, he's clearly anti-hybrid and anti-Japanese. He wrote an article putting down the Corolla, he wrote that "Toyota charges $6,100 for a Camry Hybrid" article that I posted earlier on despite the fact that the Camry Hybrid has XLE features (saying the hybrid premium is $500 and with $6,100 extra equipment) and now this one.

    To tell you the truth, I want these writers to constantly write these myths. I want to buy these cars under MSRP and without waiting. Obviously, it is not working.. :lol:

    Na. I like him doing these articles. With all these misconception, I want:

    (1) Oil to be used up ASAP so we can really talk about alternatives for once.
    (2) Get advance technologies under MSRP without the waiting list.
    (3) Oil to be used up ASAP so America do not have to send our kids to war to protect oil interests.

    Oh... And I want quicker globe warming so I can buy cheaper Ocean properties in Nevada and Arizona. [ :unsure: .. maybe bad joke for some]

    (2) True. But if it is so popular, we will all stand in line though and get "you know what" up the "you know where" from the dealers.
    (3) Unfortunely, America will probably go to war for one reason or another.

    As for the water front property... the climate changed, remember? Arizona and Nevada is going to get California's climate (oh... and it is rain and more rain in CA if you have not noticed recently :angry: ).
