I just purchased a 2014 Prius and thinking of installing a sunroof has anyone done this

    To there Prius.I contacted Auto Sunroof and they will install one in my car for 995.00 with a three year warrenty

    congrats and welcome to priuschat! there are a few threads on this, but search doesn't seem to be working correctly. make sure they've done a prius before, the concave roof can be tricky. in fact, i'hd want them to put me in touch with another prius owner they've done for a reference. what are you gonna do if it leaks, have them weld the roof back on?:p and be aware you might take a small hit to your mpg's. all the best!(y)

    the roofline is pretty aerodynamic. a sunroof disrupts the flow of air.

    I'm not sure a Toyota dealership will do this.But I might look into it.If they did do it there going to contact Auto Sunroof there one of the biggest installers of the dealerships in the Northeast.

    Maybe that's why Toyota didn't offer that as an option.I wanted a 2010 that was certified on the lot with the factory panoramic glass roof but they sold it.It had 45,000 miles on it so I ended up getting a brand new one Barcelona red. With 9 miles on it.I traded a 2012 Honda Civic EX-L with nav and sunroof for this vehicle and I love the Prius

    When it's closed, you can hardly detect that the roofline is any different at all.
    The airflow will be disrupted about as much as having a few bug splatters on your windshield.

    that's probably the best scenario, i would want to see an aftermarket install before going forward.

    Now that I think about it, it was Hyundai that offered to do that for my Elantra.

    roof r.JPG roof i.JPG roof f.JPG I had a sunroof put in about 2 years ago and it is great. It opens into the roor not over the top, it vents and closes when you turn the car off. I had it done in Westbury on Long Island. No reduced milage, or leaks or noise.

    Wow. They did a pretty decent job. I bought mine at Westbury Toyota. Did the dealership do this themselves? Or was it a third party?
