This is a milestone for me. I just filled up at 60.1 MPG at 601 miles. I had a flashing PIP but pushed it the last 10 miles to get the 600 mile tank.

I now have 5000 miles on my Prius and am getting the hang of P&G. I have made no modifications to the car yet and have concentrated on P & G with this tank. The only thing that I have done is increase my tire pressures to 44/42 the maximum reccommeded on the sidewall.

Thnks to all the people who have posted techniques and instructions that helped me learn the different ways to drive the prius. There is still a lot to learn.

Now for the 70 MPG tank.

    wow nice great tank!

I have only gone two tanks so far but my best is 520 miles (tank took 9.5 gallons at fill-up... not bad, but certainly not 600 miles!! wow

    That's awesome! Congratulations.
Hoping I can get a 60mpg tank this summer myself, I haven't even checked the tire pressures yet and I've had the car for two weeks now.
Good luck on your quest to 70!

    Thanks,

I forgot to mention the fill up took 10.2 gal. It shut off at 10.1 gallons. I continued for on more shut off. The last time I filled up it only took 9.2 gallons, same flashing PIP. Go figure.

Add a little more pressure to your tires and keep expanding your (Prius) bladder and you'll get a 700 mile tank by the end of the summer.

Check the tp while you are thinking about it. I tend to set it and forget it. The two times I found it low was some time after a visit to the dealer.
