I want to add a pip solenoid and pip fuel door button so I can add them my RAV4 ev. Unfortunately I can't find the parts anywhere. Any chance someone can find the parts and or part numbers for me?

It's not a simple button/solenoid. The PIP's computer gets involved to release the vacuum, notify the user that the filler is ready, and open the door.

I don't think that's right. I have done more research and I've found part numbers. There is a switch and a motor. There is nothing about any vacuum system.

Programming is cheaper than extra parts.

My Corolla LE had a pull-cable for opening the trunk, but when the remote starter was installed, they put in a solenoid to open the trunk. I'm sure any installer could sell you such a solenoid.

In a past life I was a car audio installer. Im sure I would have no problem wiring and installing a solenoid to pop the gas tank of my Rav EV. I just need a switch. I have been looking at all of the interesting switches toyota has made over the years. I havent found one of the EV switches for the 08ish body style prius but I think that would be cool to use. I could also use the fuel tank switch from a PIP. I am looking for a reasonable deal on either. My local dealer wants around $55 just for the switch which is crazy to me.

I found that the Prius toggle-switch blank-holes are a bit smaller than the standard-size rocker-switch, but with a bit of filing, it fits quite nicely. I'm not sure the exact dimensions, but it seemed like the most common size at the electronics store.

What's the point? It's a PITA to remember to push the button. With my standard Prius, the fuel filler door unlocks if the car doors unlock. It's better than pressing the button.

The point? That its easier to reach down to my feet and lift a lever to release the fuel door on my Rav EV

OIC, I didn't realize that you have this inconvenient release that you have to press.

Mea culpa. Can we still be friends?

Hmm... Do US models of PiP has some kind of button in the cabin you need to push to open the charging port? o_O

In the EU version the charging port is very simple. You push the door inside and it pops out open. Nothing to remember to do before leaving the car when you wish to plug-in.

We are talking about the fuel door not the J1772 port.

The fuel door on EU models has a lever on the left side of the drivers legs connected with a cable to the door release mechanism. No solenoid and fancy buttons. That's why reading this thread puzzled me, sorry.

Oh, then yes, it is different. We have a push button switch that pops the fuel door open. No lever.
