    1) Full iPod integration w/ MFD/stereo
    2) Comfortable adjustable driver's seat
    3) EV and ECON modes
    4) Plan for Plug-in option within at least 1 year.
    5) 15-20% improved fuel economy

Those are off the top of my head...what else. And let's keep it at a realistic level of reasonable expectations that you'll be sincerely disappointed..to the point you'd reconsider buying?...if it's not included.

    1. Fully-Adjustable Driver's Seat
    2. The CD-TEXT/MP3-TEXT is locked out while in motion
    3. The hatchback is gone
    4. Mileage isn't better than the current one (what's the point in upgrading?)
    5. More features to differentiate itself from the Camry Hybrid (in Canada, it's very close and the TCH wins with more features and technology because it's the newer vehicle for < $1,000 more)
    6. Performance remains the same (either lose some weight or bump the power. It's decent now but a little extra oomph helps. The TCH feels just right)
    7. More comfortable seats. They're a good fit now but wider seatbacks and longer seatbottom cushions help
    8. Most importantly, it has to have improved quality of materials. The fit & finish is great but better plastics would give it a more premium feel.

Computer-monitored diagnostics. My wife's Civic Hybrid TELLS HER when the oil needs to be changed with remaining percentage of oil life.

    1. Height adjustable drivers seat with more bolstering.
    2. Telescoping steering wheel.
    3. Better fuel economy (55mpg combined seems like a nice number, or 20%)
    4. Better handling (less understeer, body roll, or at least get TRD to make some parts for it!)
    5. Plug-in capability would a bonus.

BTW, I know that everyone is calling this new car the '09, but I'm actually thinking that unless Toyota has a real trick up their sleeve, the '09 will be more of the same and the '10 will be the complete revamp. I'm basing this on the statements from Toyota saying that the revamped Prius would be shown at next year's trade shows - so given than the Prius tends to be launched in the early fall, it's too late for a new Prius to make it as a '09...

I would love to be proven wrong, though, I'd like to replace my WRX with something that gets Prius or better fuel economy but has decent handling.

    1. Better handling in the Standard edition; wider availability of the Touring or a sport edition.

    2. Better rear visibility in a hatchback style; availability of a wagon style.

    3. Active headrests; the highest scores on all crash tests.

    4. And I will be disappointed if the '09 Prius is lengthend or widened. I'm tired of manufacturers gradually increasing the size of cars.

Seats, Seats and Seats! I'm a heartbeat away from trading in the Prius for the TCH if it has more comfortable seats. My poor A$$ can't take it anymore! Plus it has to be Plug-In with better mileage else what's the point?

    1) Energy flow & instant MPG info next to the speedo, so we don't have
to toggle back & forth & look down/to the right.
    2) Normal HVAC controls, so I can defog windows momentarily & then shut
    off heat without futzing w/touchscreen
    3) Adjustable, preferably power, driver's seat with at least 1.5" longer
    track.
    4) EV Mode
    5) Plug in! Plug in! Plug in! Even a 4 mi. range would get me to the
    highway on my daily drive.

I noticed that a few members did not want the hatchback.

    Why?

The hatchback and the ease of carrying large amounts of stuff is one of the main attractions of this design.

Is there anyone out there who also likes the hatchback???

#1) A tilt and telecoping steering wheel (tilt meaning more downwards capability) how about the system that moves the seat back and tilts the steering wheel up when you enter or exit?

#2) passenger side view mirror that tilts downwards in reverse for easier parking,,,,,,,,,i miss that feature, my caddy had that

#3) full power front seats with memory......heated too!

#4) a type of ON-STAR or communication system

    #5) a push-button TOURING or comfort ride

#6) lower body line, wider stance

#7) better fuel economy.........yes, TOYOTA can do it!

#8) better punch off the line

#9) locking glove boxes, lock the secret compartment too!

#10) factory tinted front windshield ( the TOP ONLY!)

DO I LOVE MY 08 PRIUS????? YES, ABSOLUTELY, just constructive criticism here...........YES, i would pay more for this.......for me, the PRIUS is an elite car that performs wonderfully, they already make different packages, and it's already known that the drivers are very diverse, from students to doctors and real estate brokers......i know we will pay more for higher end packages. IMO only,

    cheers!

in addition to much of the above
    1. switch to turn on the back up camera while in forward motion
    2. ability to plug in a laptop directly into the MFD through a standard computer cable
    3. better OEM tires
    4. why should we need to buy a scanguage or similar device, build in that functionality into the MFD
    5. a more robust 12v battery would be nice
    6. DD would like to be able to watch a DVD on long road trips.
and plug in her headphones to the sound system.
    7. factory towing package option. hitch with wiring for a trailer.
    8. if i leave a door adjar, tell me which *!@#*!@# door it is
    9. soft button on MFD to display TPMS output - let me see the individual pressures

and i realize some modifications like this add weight and/or cost - so sure, its a tradeoff

we dont want much - just everything:D

    1. Better seats.
    2. A gauge that tells you how many miles before you run out of gas.
