Can you tell us what the difference in the price and model number means?
We are at the web site of our local dealer and there are 5 models all with a $2000.00 price increase. I II III IV V

    Thank You

We are looking to trade in our 2009 Highlander Limited w/ 16,000 miles on it. We test drove a new Venza but it road to rough for my bad back, we haven't tried the Prius yet but I hope it has a better ride.

We find the Prius has a comparatively smooth ride, at least when the tire pressure isn't upped for fuel economy. ;)

As for the seats, it depends on the person. Package IV adds leather and lumbar support but my wife has found that a cheap ($10 from Bed, Bath & Beyond) lumbar support that you put over the seat has helped in both our Prius II and Civic. Cycledrum modded his seat to make a difference.

not sure what your question on price is? my wife has a bad back and rents the car for a week before buying. she made the mistake of buying an olds intrigue many years ago and it bothered her back the whole time she drove it. she has driven a camry for the last ten years and the seats and ride have been wonderful for her.

They mean that there seems to be a steady increment in price between the packages and was asking what they meant.

Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota might be easier to read but the prices have gone up since it was published.

One can't get a Prius I (one) except as a fleet. I've test driven a Venza once and am not sure a 3rd gen Prius' ride will be any better. Perhaps try a Camry or Camry Hybrid (aka HyCam)?

    Options & Pricing
    _ 1221 - Base Gas / Electric - $21650
    _ 1223 - Base Gas / Electric - $23050
    _ 1225 - Base Gas / Electric - $24050
    _ 1227 - Base Gas / Electric - $26850
    _ 1229 - Base Gas / Electric - $28320

Thats the choices on the Dealer Web Site But it dosen't say what the differences are.

We have owned a Camry, Avalon Limited & now the Highlander Limited and they all rode great no problems with my back. Nothing to do with back support it's the ride on the road.

can't give you details off the top of my head, but each level builds on the options of the one before. stereo, wheels, headlites, sunroof, nav, etc. if the dealer can't show you, leave quickly! it's all on toyota.com:)

We live in Sticks USA we wouldn't know where to rent one in our area.

I went to the site that cwerdna gave me earlier and read what it said.

    Welcome to PriusChat.

Why not go to Edmunds.com and compare the various models and pricing?

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

okay, hopefully, they will let you take it on a nice long test drive, on the roughest roads you can find. don't let them hurry you, more than a few here have been disappointed with ownership when purchasing after a short test drive. all the best!

Hertz rents them. Some Toyota stores have TRAC (Toyota Rent A Car) cars you can rent and try out.
