I have received the OGS switch from Japan and since many do not like the position of the B and D buttons I opened it to see how complicated it may be to modify it.

To make the story short - it is possible to cut and rewire the connections of the push buttons on the PCB but the buttons cannot be swapped unless you accept that the letters are 90° rotated (look at the pic with the buttons swapped). Also you cannot paint and stick another letter on them due to the fact that the letters are transparent.

Check out the attached pictures. It was a big surprise for me to found that much of electronic devices in this switch. I assume that there is more in the signals to the ECU than just 4 Switches that do 1/0. For me I have to find out if I can arrange myself with the position of the buttons. But I plan to sell these in Europe and am not sure if the LHD customers can arrange themselfes.

Why not just leave it as it is?

You could also try selling it to RHD countries too.

True on both points. But while we're dreaming, you'd think the accessory manufacturer would have made it more easily adaptable to alternative configurations.

Then again, Toyota could have come up with a more sophisticated design... should'a, would'a, could'a: my suggestion: all push button, not just Park... say with a Lockout button for Park and Reverse... i.e., two buttons would have to pushed to "engage" Reverse or Park.

Does anyone really like the shift knob/manual gearbox artifact... that gets in the way of operating the far-more-important Head Unit?
    ----
Edit: Bottom Line... after the Missus adjusts to the other embellishments, if no one comes out with anything better, I'll go with the pushbuttons.

anyone seen this before? (google stage 10 ESS, couldn't post a link yet)
supposedly coming out with what looks to be the same OGS shifter modified to LHD, or maybe they found the manufacturer and got them to modify it for LHD? no idea when it is supposed to come out though... The google search does show a blog entry with an update, no dates on anything though.

I have the Black OGS and absolutely love it. You can change the reverse button a different color so I have that as red and the rest of the letters green. Being set up for a LH or RH makes no difference once installed IMO.

I accidentally ran across this electronic shifter earlier on Youtube, and I would LOVE to have it!! It is definitely for those of us who would prefer that extra pizzazz in our add-ons! lol

I love how it has rhinestones on the buttons. Wow....

On the OGS you can simply change the color of all buttons (RGB) or individually by pressing the buttons during IGN on (described in the manual or do a search in youtube). Also the brightness can be adjusted. On mine I have the buttons the same green as the stock LEDs but the Logo is blue.

So, no clues on who might make this? I thought maybe a member had run across it in their searches for electronic shifters....
