traded my 2008 for 2015. was going to wait for gen 4 release but they were offering great deals and incentives. besides was thinking first year of all new model was not good idea, so got a great 3 years lease. Its been 24 hours and I miss old sparky. :(

At first I was curious about the EV range going past 25mph, but then after driving it for a few days I realized that after 25mph, the car operates just like our Gen2's did (light on the gas, and you are naturally in EV mode). Once I realized that, Im cool with the operation of everything.

OH and if you put it in ECO and press the EV button, it much more aggressively stays in EV.
Side note: What do you think of the POWER mode??:cool: Wheeeeeee!

Thanks for the input, if it operates as my 08 did that would be fine. 7 years of training and watching that screen, have created good driving behavior and great MPG's. It has become second nature.. Haven't gotten familiar with the car yet and roads are dangerous at the moment and more coming this eve and Thursday.

just makes the gas pedal more sensitive. and eco suppresses heat and a/c.

ECO also increases gas pedal travel. Just leaving 'em both off works for me.

Well a 3 year lease gives you the easy option of upgrading 3 years from now, which should be about perfect if you are still interested in the Gen 4 at that time.

As far as missing "Old Sparky"?

Well that might not be the best name for Hybrid vehicle. But I can't really help you with the grief.

OH!, That's y the pedal feels funny and needs more travel.. Suppressing the heat and ac is great. I was always manually turning them off then I could coast or be in EV mod or at a traffic light before fully warm.. Lots of good changes from my 08.. Hopefully the 4 gen will see some nice improvements..

I find the car most enjoyable in normal mode. However, a few times, I was stopped next to a ricer car with a punk kid driving, and I had to put it into POWER mode to be the first one gone when the light turned green :D

OH! Tbirdhs- you will notice the heat is sooooooo much better (hotter and better flow) in the Gen3. I cannot believe how fast it creates heat, whereas it seems my Gen2 took forrrreeevvveerrrrrr

^^^that's funny because I use our 4-wheel drive Tundra instead of our Prius when we have snow like today! Agree that the thought of salty water mixing with 200-500volt electrical power transfers is uncomfortable for me.

I just discovered that you can do both EV and ECO. It's good for about 28mph before the "we canceled your fun because youre going too fast" light came on. The PWR setting really gets up and goes.
