very interesting. i am/was interested in the highlander version but have the same concerns about the price. the highlander is less than the rx330, but not by much when you fully load it up.

I just spoke with a dealer who said that the Hybrid Highlanders have been pushed back from January to February and possibly even until April '05. He said that Toyota did not want the Highlander to compete with the Lexus model. Not the best news because my wife and I planned on getting the hybrid Highlander for her after first testing the Prius.

Just spoke with the local Lexus dealer regarding my order for the RX 400H. It has been pushed back from Aug to "maybe Nov, (pause) well, it really means Jan or Feb 05".
They haven't received any final numbers but said it will cost $3-$5K more for a comparably equipped model. He quoted midrange of just under $50K.
    Dreams die hard.
