Lotus Elite Concept First Look - Motor Trend

I don't think many will choose the hybrid option over the RWD lexus V8. It is interesting that lotus is using toyota drive-trains in so many cars. But really I'd rather just have a Tesla.

Seriously. 3700lbs WTF? That's GT-R weight. They need to take about 700lbs off that thing.

That 700lb extra weight is the HV battery and the electric motors.

3750lbs is for the RWD car without gas. The hybrid will add weight. IMHO the car is very sexy. Its not going to be as light efficient hybrid like the Porsche 918, at 3300lbs.

I mean they need to make the thing 3000lbs with the hybrid system in place. I mean it's heavier than a Porsche...it's like a first for Lotus.

Oh, I didn't know it has the Lexus LS600h hybrid engine. LS600h weights 5,360 lbs so this car is very light for the amount of power.

As long as you are grabbing numbers, why not 2000 lb, neither number is reasonable for what the car is?:D

Lotus makes light cars if that's what you want, but they don't have the power train or luxury of this one.

The Evora is 3000lbs. That's where I "grabbed" the number from, and it corners wonderfully (I have driven one) albeit not as sharply as an Elise/Exige.
