Just not all of the assumptions that go with it. I am NOT PC, or touchy feely, green oriented, or sensitive. California, and most californians scare the hell out of me. I eat meat whether I kill it myself or buy it, and will continue to do so. I am a former Marine, and I do love the assumptions that goes with that...I do try having consideration for others on this planet, but dont plan on radically altering my lifestyle or comfort level to accomodate it. You make your choices, and I'll make mine; and we can just agree to disagree. The prius is simply a very unique and money saving idea, with lots of cool buttons and gadgets; and I like it very much. I am a southern boy, born and bred. My other car is a giant, lifted dodge truck (yes big tires, engine and all), also have a couple of bikes, both on and off road, 4 wheelers, jet skis, and a fishing boat. I have been registered and reading on here for a couple of days now, and finally have some decent pics so I thought I would post them. Thanks for your time everyone.

Hey, G...Congrats on the new car. I bought mine a few weeks ago. How is your mileage? I'm only getting around 34 MPG, but I'm only on my second tank. I was told it would take a while before I got up to 45 MPG...but define "a while", right?

PS: I bought the same color as yours. I think they look very cool (it kind of grows on you) and I also love the bells and whistles!

Current avg on the MFD is 44.6, current calculated is 43.2. It stays pretty warm down here, so the mileage is pretty good, but looking forward to seeing better as it warms up further and I get better at driving efficiently.

Yeah, the color was my biggest requirement in buying the car. Electric blue is very slick...;)

Very nice, thanks for the pix!

For those wanting to improve your mileage, I suggest a quality synthetic oil such as Mobil-1 5W-30 and grille-blocking, both of which you can find discussed by doing a search on this forum.

    Mileage and looks! wow!

I love that color. That color is very difficult to get in So. Cal, well at least according to my dealer. I think this car would be hot with the dark Touring Wheels w/o wheel covers and tinted glass. I like the monochromatic look, like this.

Welcome to Priuschat and congratulations. Every time I look at a new Prius I think it is my favorite color. Good thing my own Prius still looks new.

BTW, keep eating meat and driving a Prius although I don't recomend doing them at the same time. SEMPER FI

Thanks for the thumbs up on the pics. As a side note photography is a side hobby (read obsession) of mine, so if I can provide photos of anything to do with the prius (close ups, high quality) I would be happy to provide them (although you will probably be subjected to seeing photos fairly often anyway). Thanks for the welcome everyone.

I think we see a good share of the regular exterior shots of the cars. I would like to see detailed shots of the suspension, maintenance areas (ie. oil filter, oil drainage bolt, air filter, cabin filter, etc.), brakes, steering componants, under the dash, engine bay.

    You asked for it...

Also check then increase your tp (tire pressure) which could add a couple mpg. I find it's tough to improve fuel economy during the winter. I'll be happy to maintain the average.

First just get used to the car. The FE will come along naturally but if you just have short hops and hostile terrain the numbers won't look good but still better than anything else.

I saw Composter's blue 2008 and it is gorgeous. I also recommend the clear bra ASAP before the scratches reveal the white primer.
