Just took delievery in North Palm Beach of a 2008 magnetic grey touring with package 6. I was not aware that the 16" wheels and respective spokes were not part of the wheel itself, but rather snap on covers. Was anyone else, when ording the touring package, aware of this? The dealer was great to deal with, but very few sales people were aware of snap on wheel covers. Love the car. Gas is now up to $3.40 and I have to drive it back to CT. Figure I will fill it up 3 times...maybe.

    Hi, welcome to Prius chat!
When I first saw your posting, I thought it might be spam, since you had nothing but your username as the topic.

Be sure to post photos, when you get a chance :)

I am not that great using computers, so I wasn't even sure how to post. How does one get pictures onto this site? I have a digital camera, but that's about it for knowing how to do this.

First, take a photo of your new Prius.
Upload it to your computer, and change the size of it to about 400 x 300 pixels. save that.
    Go to the photos thread.
Post a reply, and then, under Additional Options, click Manage Attachments.
Click Browse, select your photo on your computer. click Upload.
    Click Submit Reply.

Before you leave, read some of the threads here about the "guess gauge" and folks who run out of gas because they misjudge how much is left in the tank.

Short story is - the gas tank is a flexible bladder which theoretically holds 11.9 gallons but in reality holds less, especially in colder temps when the bladder is less flexible. So just because you notice you can go a certain distance on each pip of the gas gauge, like say 50 miles before a pip disappears, that doesn't mean you'll always get 50 miles per pip. Don't wait for the last pip to start flashing before you get gas - better to fill up when you're down to 2 pips, or one at the latest.

Most people don't have problems, it's just that some folks make assumptions about having a few more gallons then they really do, and then wind up regretting it.

Enjoy your trip - you will love the car.

Lots of folks here on PC refer to those wheel covers as, 'Play-school' frisbees. We take 'em off and toss 'em ... like a frisbee towards the trash can. Or, keep 'em for whom ever might loose one. Many think the rims look plenty nice (or even nicer) without the frisbees.

I have never really looked at my rims without the plastic snap ons.

Since I am rotating tires this weekend, it is my opportunity to see whether I like the look or not.

What a wheel looks like without the hubcaps and with the axle covers.
