Bob...What a great service you've done for all of us owners.

I seem to get better mileage these days in with the cruise control on. My daily commute is over 100 miles (round trip) and currently getting almost 53 mpg. I do have some hills to go over as I commute from Denver to the Springs daily on I-25. I was doing the depressing/glide techniques but found that the CC is doing a better job at acceleration. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks again, Esther

I get my new Prius next week, so I've not driven it yet, but what exactly does "re-depressing the gas pedal" do ?
Is it to overcome the braking effect of the motors to extend the "glide" ?

Exactly. Get the HSI out of the charging zone just enough to keep regen from kicking in and the car will coast.

Great video tutorial! Thanks! I've been driving my Prius for a few months and have been learning a few of these tricks by trial and error with limited success. But this tutorial explains so many things I hadn't known. And since it was in a video, I have a much better idea of how to do the various techniques. Can't wait to try these!

This should probably be a sticky.

Although it has been said many times in the previous 27 posts...........thanks for putting this together.

I have these techniques in practice now and am amazed at my MPG. It doesn't even seem real sometimes. I can't believe I actually am doubling the MPG from my old 4 cylinder.................ridiculous.

Is it possible to take another edit pass and remove the various
illiteracies in the overlay text? Misuse of "it's", misspellings,
etc. All jumps off the screen at me, and likely others...
    .
If you want to add a section pointing at additional resources,
the HSI rundown and some of the more in-depth threads on PC
might be worthwhile to add at the end or something..

After watching this video, I found out I was misinformed on a couple things.

    Since, I've gone 93 miles @ 60.1 mpg (MFD) with 5 warmups.

I have these hills to climb which hurt my mpg, so this result is good for me.

If I improve on things, I can perhaps go to 63 - 65 mpg (MFD). This is probably my max though.
