Meet at Huntington Toyota - April 4th

LIPOG MEMBERS:



I know this is short notice, but the meeting at Huntington Toyota has been set for Wednesday, April 4th beginning at 4:30 pm



We tried to pick a day and time that was most convenient for all. They normally close the service dept. at 5pm and lock up at 6. It is OK if we run past 6.

They will have a factory Service Rep for us to question ( this is the guy that Toyota sends to fix the problem when their in-house techs are stumped ) as well as one of their Prius techs. They will be providing food (baked ziti, heroes) as well as refreshments. The parts manager is putting together a “goodie bag†for each of us.



We will need to put together a list of how many can attend.



Again, I know this is short notice, and earlier in the day than is ideal, but it would be good if we can have a nice turnout – the hope is that they will sponsor additional events and give parts and service discounts to our members.



I’ll be sending out more details in the next several days.

If I do not have court duty as a Juror, I will attend this Prius Technical meet at Huntington Toyota a little pass 5 pm.

I would like to see as many members and guest as possible regardless of the "4:30PM" starting time, and it will be a very important step for our group to be recognized by Toyota Co. in NY State and with the possibility of having a local Toyota dealer as an sponsor.

Remember that in the future we will need service and having a reputable and trustworthy service department with technical personnel to witch we can talk in one on one is " PRICELESS" .

Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Manhattan, Bronx Counties & neighboring states participants, we are all one friendly group!!

Lets make this another memorable event with everybody participation.

I contacted couple Prius owners at work, still waiting for their response. I'll try my best to attend. This is indeed very exciting!

Will do my best...but can't say for sure until that day comes....My husband is still in the hospital....anything could happen.

I remember you showing us the BT plate. Have you install it on your car yet? Since the BT plate debate is heating up again, we can ask the Toyota Service Rep what s/he think if the plate will help. If it does, why wasn't a better plate used (expected answer: cost).

Oh yeah! I just had an oil change and asked that the oil not be "overfilled" and got a big NO, they HAD to put in the FULL amount...whatever "full" meant. So...good question.

Of course, that dang mechanical noise my brakes make when I push the pedal in a release, didn't do it even once when I went there for warranty service...but is still doing it.

I plan at this point to be there...but hubby is moving from hospital to rehab some time this week. If it is Wednesday, I may have to be at the rehab during that time...so, if you need an exact count, I can't help you, but plan to be there, if Tony isn't moved on Wednesday.

If you are headed eastbound to New Hamphshire via Oreint Point Ferry to Groton, I would recommend the EconoLodge in Smithtown (18 miles east of Huntington). The best rates there are $80/night. and it is close to the Long Island Expressway. For details, you can check the Choice Hotel Website.

Hi Gang:

Sorry I won't be able to make it for the meeting at Steven's Toyota (Now Huntington Toyota). Have a great meeting. I loaned Emile my OEM plate so that the members who have never seen the 2 plates together can see the difference. Now all Emile has to do is remember where he put the BT Plate. It will be interesting to see if the Toyota people have any comment.

Also, find out if Steven's will supply Mobil 1 for oil changes, and also if they are careful about putting in the correct amount of oil. I was sort of turned off when I had my first service at Westbury Toyota (where I bought the car) when I discovered that the dipstick was about 1/4" too high.

I have a BT plate that I never installed that's been sitting in the back of my car so I will bring it along for the comparison.
