Metal Rattling in the rear.

    Since I got my car (2011) I've been hearing this high pitch metal rattling that sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the back of the car. It comes an goes, but seems to primarily happen when I hit bumps or drive on a rough road. Has anyone else experienced this? It's pretty annoying and I would really like to find the source so I can fix it.

    So I put my rear seats down and the sound has gone away. Does anyone else have this issue?

    Haven't had that problem. Was your seat pushed all the way to the stops? Does it rattle if you now push the seats back really firmly?

    Strange thing, I have a 3 month old 2013 prius - when I put my seats down, I hear rattling. When they are up and locked in place, the hatch is totally silent.
