Minimum income to take job in Alaska if offered?

Kotzbue, AK. Very remote, and research indicates I could be paying 2-3X the norm for most everything. As if living in Alaska doesn't attach a higher cost to living to begin with.


There may be the possibility that there are other locations I might be sent if selected, but I won't know until that happens...if it happens.


All I know so far is that there is a base pay plus a COL adjustment, but what should I require in actual dollars to know it's a fair offer?

 

I've done some rough estimates, but I really need a solid minimum pay (annual) to know if it's good or having me struggle to get by each month.

I might ask to be put in touch with someone in the area who can give me real numbers to work with. Housing, heating and food could turn a good offer into a bad one very easily. If housing is available at lower prices than I'm estimating that has a big impact.
