Wondering if the Twin Cities Prii owners have any local gatherings during the summer. Mike Sent from my iPhone
I need to find out what kind of people we are dealing with before coming up with places to go. Is everyone retired, how old, teckie nerds or just drivers, hypermilers, stuff like that. I come from the go fast car crowd. Used to autocross, ride crotch rockets, car shows, shooting, paddling, electronics tech stuff, Amateur Radio operator, anything cool car related Picnics, breakfasts, dinners, car shows, just hanging out chatting is stuff I like. What or how were the old Prii meets like? Mike
There was a surprising diversity of owners right from the very start. They were a fantastic resource for User-Guide material, not the slightest bit shy to ask for more info on quite a variety of topics. In the past, we've simply just met at a coffeeshop somewhere... starting inside then ending up in the lot with the cars. A park would be nice, but this time of year could be a challenge.
Sounds like a fun group to hang out with. Do you have contacts with people from the last meet ? What town or area were the meets located before? I live half an hour north of Anoka. An hour from MSP airport. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, what intervals were popular in the past? I used to hang out with the MNSC club and had weekly meets which were fun. They had summer picnic's and cruises to other towns. Sometimes overnight stays. I dont know if Prii owners get into driving around the countryside stopping here and there just for fun Mike
We've never been able to maintain anything steady. Unfortunately (for lack of a better term), Prius works so well, it quickly becomes the norm for most owners. So, even participation online drops off fairly quick.
Doesn't sound like we could get people interested in weekly gatherings Wonder if the Madison owners have gatherings? There are way more Prii down there than up here. It's only 4 hours away and a monthly meet would be fine to drive to. I spotted a ton of Prii in Milwaukee last week but that is a bit of a drive Oh well... Mike
