    Mister Toyoda,

You have only treated me fairly, and made excellent cars that have been the standard sought by the rest of the problem plagued, bug infested automobile manufacturing industry. Thank You for that. You absolutely Do Not Owe me and most Americans, any apology.

Unlike the American auto makers no vehicle you ever made in your company, and sold to me and my family, ever failed to perform well, and be of excellent quality. Besides GM never apologized for that crummy diesel Oldsmobile they sold me back in 1980 . The only reason I didn't join the Class Action Lawsuit against GM was I had, at some considerable cost to me, Off Loaded that Lemon. I'm still waiting on that apology. And Unlike Chrsyler my taxes were never needed to 'Bail out' the Toyota Company which employs thousands of Americans and makes the best quality cars in the industry.

So in the whole scheme of things you have been good for me and my fellow Americans. Oh, and I positively LOVE my New 2010 Prius V. the only surprise is that I could like it even More trhan the last one I bought back in 2007 that is now owned by my sibling.

So, keep up the excellent work.:cheer2:

Even though I'm not an American, I agree totally. I am extremely happy with my Prius and I am grateful to all Toyota engineers and workers who designed, developed and manufactured that car.

I'll add a 3rd vote of support for 20 yrs of driving security covering well over a million miles for myself and my family. We will return gladly for several new vehicles during the normal course when the needs arise.

    Thank you, also.

I don't want an apology from either.

All I want is a nice, more environmentally friendly car. (Toyota).

    and

To not have to hear anymore about your sex life.

The 2nd on is for Tiger, Mr. Toyoda can do as he likes.

The Prius is the first Toyota I've ever bought, and it's by far the most rewarding car I've ever owned. No regrets whatsoever. No apologies required.

Our used 2005 Prius was our first Toyota car. We really enjoyed it and when we learned about the 2010 we advanced ordered it and sold the 2005 to my Brother who loves it. So far we have not had any repair issues or problems in 2 years of ownership of Toyota's. We still have 3 GM cars(SUV). They are not so trouble free and may go for a Rav 4 Hybrid in a few years. Our impression of Toyota is they make sound cars with few problems. The recall seems way over done, however, not an excuse to not address safety issues that should have been solved by now.

Totally agree that Toyota does NOT owe my wife or me an apology. We love our two Priuses and all the Toyotas and Lexuses that preceeded them.

Congress seems to expect Toyota to produce an idiot-proof car. What Congress doesn't get is that our country will just produce a better idiot. (Case in point - look at the guys running GM.)

BTW, we had a "floor mat issue" on our last BMW and (a) there was no recall, and (b) Congress didn't schedule multiple blame-a-thons to give the false impression that they were doing somehting useful.

In our family, we have 7 various Toyota cars -all very reliable. If anything, I would like to apologize to Mr. Toyoda for the way our media and, especially, our Congressmen, have treated him and his company. I still believe this has been blown out of proportion to boost the fortunes of Government Motors (GM) and corporate welfare mother Chrysler - both of whose cars I will NEVER even consider.

The Jim Press "speaks out" interview seemed nice, in that he'd put Toyota's quality issue squarely on "profit before quality" mindset. But does that mean he's implicating himself as one of the culprits?

The mysterious case of Chrysler's Jim Press - Oct. 1, 2009

Poor guy ... his life does seem to have unraveled as of late. I wish him the best. That said, I'd be laying very very low right now, and avoiding interviews, with all the bumps in the road he's dealing with.
