I was just checking out the Mylink Remote app from the Chevy Volt and it has some really nice features such as checking tire pressure, fuel (gas), oil life & miles driven. Now that has me wondering about our Entunes.

Do you think that Toyota could or would update their mobile Entunes program that could provide more information such as that from Mylink or are they done and what you see is all you are going to get for current owners?

I'm still hoping that Toyota could push out OTA improvments to the software without having to take the vehicle back into the dealer because I know they won't do anything due to cost if it requires people to take the vehicle back in order to make the updates and we would be stuck with what we have.

Entunes just feels like an unfinished product that sucks especially for non PIP owners. That's just my opinion. Atleast us PIP owners can do a little more stuff.

I think you sum it up well.

I think entune will get better. The bing app with voice search is pretty neat, and you can listen to a game on the radio and have the scoreboard on the Nav screen with sports app. And you can save a $1 or so on gas every fill up by using the fuel price app.

    Regarding your specific volt example-
-it doesn't seem that the car actually provides a readout of the tire pressure, even locally
-remaining features would only apply to the advanced model, since base has no cellular radio.

I hope it gets better. We'll see what happens.

i think toyota will do more with entune as the industry seems to have decided on leveraging content delivery through smartphone rather than directly to the car (+ connection fees)

I would highly recommend getting a dedicated charger anyway because the built-in USB port charges very slowly.

True but it should work better than it does and I like to plug in to use the traffic function on the entune as well as bing.

See the FAQ, you might not need the cable for that.
Agreed that it should be better.
