    Hi all,

I had the last pip on the gas gauge flashing so I put in some fuel. Finished up and moved the car forward in EV mode to visit the shop. I was going to reset the trip meter on the MFD consumption screen, but saw that it had gone to zero on its' own. I was puzzled. I don't remember pressing reset...The consumption was still where it was before. All the other systems work normally and the distance reading on the MFD consumption screen is counting up correctly.

A fluke? I have a brand new 12V battery so don't think it's a low battery voltage issue.

I never noticed it does that, because I always reset it myself before driving off.

From 06 on, the mileage resets but the MPG does not reset. With the 04, both mileage and MPG resets after about a 10th of a mile. Not sure about the 05...

Anyone have a mystery MPG reset? I had never reset the MPG since I bought the car -- my logic was to reset it only when selling the car and hence find the total average fuel economy. But suddenly at about 5500 miles it reset itself after a normal fillup. No warnings, no indications and I'm 100% sure I did not hit the reset button accidentally. I'm looking at it ... and it goes from 43.2 MPG, 401 miles to 0.0 MPG, 0 miles.

    Any ideas?

I guess I am going to have to watch mine next time I fill up. I haven't heard of this before.
