I am looking for some place to get a nonglare screen protector. I have seen them for other previous models but not for the Prius v three model. As an aside, why in the world Toyota did not make the screen to be less reflective? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
This is a link to a “NavCap,” sun visor which provides navigation screen glare protection but is made specifically for the 2010-2011 Prius. It is molded of high-temp, 1/8-inch thick ABS plastic. Maybe they’ll come out with a 2012 version. http://www.priusaccessory.com/2010-2011-Prius-NavCap-Sun-Viso-Displayr-p/navcap10.htm
The navigation screen is almost unreadable during the day. I called Toyota, and they claimed that no one else had complained. I doubt that, since the customer service person knew that not wearing sunglasses made it easier to see the screen. In any event, I suggest that others who hate the glare register a complaint with Toyota. In the meantime, I use a piece of cardboard anchored in my CD slot to keep the sun off of the screen.
