New Colors for 2008?

Does anyone know if the 2007 models will come in new colors?? Also, when are they due out exactly? Thanks!

The 2007 models are already out. If you are wondering about the 2008 Prii, I don't really know much about them myself. The major redesign from what I remember is scheduled for 2009 (model year). You can always use the search feature .

I've read somewhere that they are due out mid to late August. As far as new colors or features, I have no idea. I imagine that the packages most likely will be slightly different.

We could start a fake new features rumor thread. Examples below....
I hear they will offer an optional sunroof.
I hear they will offer eye retina starting.

I'm asking because I will buy a new car when I move to Los Angeles in late October and I was thinking of getting the 2007 at a special price since the 2008s will be out then, since from what I hear, the models will be basically identical but I wanted to have an idea of what might change in terms of packages and colors....

I hear they will have night vision infrared camera with monitor projected on the windshield as a heads up display.

I hear they will have a new heated seats with pnematic lumbar adjustment, additional height adjustments and a telescoping steering column.

The standard tires will now be on a newly developed lightweight 16 inch rim with premium LRR 205/R60 tires.

Dual DVD system for back seat in headrests will be standard equipment.

I've heard that the batteries will last 50 miles between ICE startups, which will then only last 5 miles.
Oh, and that there will be a built-in espresso machine as one of the higher-end options.

And, when you stand near it and press the fob button, the back hatch will open All By Itself!

also, the Touring edition will not have door handles. instead, pop locks.

finally, perhaps the best feature of them all, is the new color palette. in addition to the current colors (they will be discontinuing seaside pearl and magnetic gray) they will offer Screamin' Yellow, Burnt Orange Metallic, and TreeHugger Green

I just picked up my 2008 "Earth Green" Package 6 Limited Touring Edition yesterday...this is a limited color for 2008.

I hear that it will come with a rear wiper that clears more than a quarter of the window.
It will also offer speed limit sensing technology and prevent the driver from exceeding the posted speed in order to increase fuel efficiency.

I really ike that Earth Green. I also like the dark green used for the classic Prius. I think that dark shade would look good on a newer model.

I heard they'll be replacing the fob with a DNA test that doubles by testing blood alcohol content and disables the car if you're over the legal limit.

Right now there are 2 standard Prius at 3 local dealers. Both are at the same dealer. I don't believe you are going to find any leftover 2007s when the 2008s arrive unless all of the inventory is in California.

To counteract GM's marketing scheme with the Transformers movie Toyota is partnering with LucasArts. The effect for 2008:

Stormtrooper White
Vader Black
Imperial Guard Red

The customer will have to choose either the Imperial or Rebel Alliance configuration package upon delivery.

James Earl Jones or C3PO replaces Microsoft Jill
The internal backup beep is replaced with an external Imperial March or Star Wars theme.
