Hope I'm not spamming you! Just wanted to let you know that some of us on Insight Central have been trying to plan a hybrid meet up. Here's the info:

    "Oct 24th 2009
Start gathering at 3pm in parking lot across from Zips.
Eventually we will move over to Zips itself if you come a little late.

You pay for your own meal.

    Zips Dinner Inc.
    Routes 101 & 12, Dayville, CT, 06241
    860-774-6335"

There's a thread about it down in the appropriate section, but since there hasn't been much response, I figured I'd post up here.
    Hope to see you there!

    1. You ARE spamming.
    2. You don't even own a Prius.
    3. Prius >>> Insight and all other hybrids

So Prius and Insight drivers can't be friends? I beg to differ.

This isn't spam at all...I would not have known there was a hybrid event in CT next weekend unless someone from Insight Central posted it here. Unfortunately, I cannot attend but appreciate the info posted here as I would like to attend future events if I am able.

I also posted this event over at ecomodder.com in case anyone has interest in attending.

Lets try and be respectful all... :) It's a Hybrid meet-up, not a Prius or Insight only meet-up.

I made the 'mistake' last time of closing a thread and linking to the original post for a meet-up but posting in the main GII and GIII forums does make it a bit more noticeable for those who may not always view new posts.

Here is a link to the original thread, so if we can, please let's keep all discussion in it if you are attending etc.

I don't see it that way at all. We've welcomed diesel folks, EV folks, conventional hypermilers, we have forums for all various hybrids. I'm not that happy about the multiple duplicate posts, but competition encourages improvements and we're all aiming for the same common goal.

Ok, fine. I apologize. But #3 is true and we all know it. :D

I do apologize for posting the same thing twice. I wanted to make sure people saw it who might not frequent the section designated for meet ups (since it is coming up shortly), so I thought posting the info in the Prius III and II general sections would perhaps catch someone's eye who was only interested in their respective model's section of the board. I thought perhaps I should rephrase the two so they were not exactly the same, but since they were meant for two different groups of owners, hopefully board members won't end up reading it in both places.

That's mighty nice of you Insight-ers to extend the invitation on this forum. Hopefully, time etc permitting, I'll try to join in a brand new 2010!
