Ummm...errr..I know I'm way late to the game and I haven't been around for a while but ---

Has anyone pointed out the irony of a moderator talking about cordoning off political discussions when that self same moderator slaps a blatantly political banner ad in his signature which gets propagated with every post? And just to be clear I'm not saying anything for or against the particular political figure in question - I'm pointing out the irony and suggesting that perhaps it would be more consistent to leave the promotion of political figures to the political forum.

Now wouldn't it be doubly ironic if there were something biased in my own signature? I honestly can't remember...

Well, not really. Unless your political bend is basically the same as the guys who have been around a long time, forget it. One guy (EJ something or another) has been on the board less than 2 years and has over 4 thousand posts. You better not cross swords with EJ! He'll get you expelled.

Troll? No. I was indeed invited here to help bring some balance into your extremely lopsided political arena. But I can see you do not want balance. You folks only want people who think exactly the same. Your lively discussions in the political area will be exactly what they are now. one sided. Your faithful don't want to engage in debate, and seem unsuited to the task. You keep the balance tilted in your direction by stacking the deck. Which is good for you.

You might have learned something from me. And I might have learned something from some of your folks. That is not to be. I actually thought the exercise might have been worthwhile. Wrong.

Speaking of wrong. Exactly what is wrong with wishing actions you don't support should fail? Judging by my limited time attempting to have a dialog with your folks, you have made sure I fail. Which is the best thing you can do to keep your status quo. But this action is yet another example of the double standard I have clearly seen. Do not be bothered or hindered by facts! Silence those who dissent! Make sure opposing voices FAIL.

I specifically asked for and tried to elicit NON-emotional responses. Nothing I posted was OFF topic, or irrelevant, OR inflammatory. Now, you and some others might have disagreed or disliked it. Controversial? Yes, but that is very nature of political discussions. But again, Troll I was not.

With all due respect, I think one day of involvement and 17 posts are insufficient to be able to make that judgement.

How long does it take to get approval to join FHOPolitics? If my (currnetly) pending request isn't approved, will it just stay pending indefinitely or will I be notified that I've been denied access to the private group?

I do have some reservations about joining- I really enjoy PC and enjoy the comradarie as well as all the great info- but hope this one channel in particular doesn't create an opportunity for shenanigans that could result in turmoil!

Still, I have to jump into the fray- if for no other reason than to jump in and bolster those who need bolstering for the commonwealth of all of us.

Don't do it my friend. It really is a sh%$hole and IMO a cancer for PriusChat. There are trolls in there that rarely post anywhere else on the site and live to stroke each other's political wang. I have often thought of taking a poll to close the damn thing and flush the idiots out so they'll just leave PC altogether and rid us of their trolling, for that is all it is.
