Just took delivery on my 2010 Prius V. Blaze Pearl with the nav system. First impressions are WOW what a difference. Still trying to understand how all the bells and whistles work and will soon start tracking MPG.

Some great topics on this forum. Especially interested in preserving the great paint job since I do not have a garage and live in southern Ohio where we have hot summers and snowy winters. Looking for a good car cover.

Congrats & enjoy your new V! I've had my IV since the end of July. Warning: There's a learning curve so don't fret if your initial milage isn't as good as you want. Also, the colder weather has an impact, I've been watching my mileage decline recently. It's to be expected and I try keep it in perspective but it still hurts!

There are a few threads on detailing here with good tips. I went with Zaino. The first time took awhile for the wash/clay bar/wash/Z5/Z6/Z5/Z6/Z2/Z6 process. I put a couple more coats on a few weeks later to give me a little more coverage for the winter (I don't have a garage either). Now it's just wash and Z6 which goes very quickly. The car looks great when it's clean!

Took it on a road trip today. 85 miles about 70% interstate and open highway driving (55 to 65 MPH) the rest, stop and go city streets. Avg mileage 48.7. Used the ECO display and rarely got into the red.

    LOVE THIS CAR!:cheer2:

Many good articles here on paint care: Car Detailing Tips & Complete Car Detailing Guide

For starters: Don't use dishwashing soap, don't use rags or old towels, avoid ammonia based cleaners.

If you have a new paint job, Klasse All-in-one is probably the simplest route to go if you start right away.

    Mxy,

I have some photos of my Blizzard Pearl in this thread. I used Zaino's Z-2 and layered five coats on over a three-week period. The only thing you need to worry about with Zaino is quantity applied. Be very sparing. Literally one fluid ounce of Z-2 was more than sufficient to Zaino the entire Prius with one coat.

Hello everyone! My husband reads these forums so I already feel like I'm a member, but I've just registered today. We have a red 2010 IV model that we've had since July and we pretty much love it.

I thought some Prius owners would enjoy reading a few of my adventures in Priusdom on my blog: esoileau.wordpress.com

I know how you feel. I've had mine for just over four months and I still smile every time I get into it!
