New Prius Weird Noise

    Hi Everyone,

    Just bought my first Prius... 2005 w/ 240k on the clock and am new to the forum. Everything runs great and I'm getting ~45MPG but I've got a weird intermittent noise that I can't figure out. I've searched the forum and the web as best I could but couldn't find anyone with a similar sounding problem. Kinda sounds like old school printer...



    Sometimes it starts right after startup and sometimes I hear it after driving but before turning the car completely off. Once the car is shut down it stops.

    Based on the records, the inverter pump TSB has been completed but that was at least 100k ago.

    Any ideas what it might be?

    Thanks... sounds like it's the coolant control valve and not a huge worry. Much appreciated.
