Prius owners are known for being some of the most technologically advanced car enthusiasts on the planet, so it only makes sense for PriusChat to have a smartphone/mobile version of the site.

The mobile site was mainly designed around Webkit browsers (iPhone, iPod Touch, Palm Pre), but it should work well for everyone.

There are 2 easy ways to get to the new mobile site - either visit http://priuschat.com/mobile or choose "Mobile/iPhone Style" from the style dropdown at the bottom left of every PriusChat forum page.

Don't like it? Just hit "Normal Version" at the bottom left of the mobile site.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

I like the mobile site on my blackberry bold.

The links in the subscription emails are now pointing to the regular site. It used to point to the mobile site before the upgrade.

Additionally, my iPhone is not showing the drop-down for style choices. What kind of sick joke are you trying to pull here, Cooper?!

I also can't get this new mobile site to show up with my HTC Touch Pro. I tried both Internet Explorer and the Opera browser and it still kicks me back into the old priuschat.com/forums when I try to go to priuschat.com/mobile.

Oh, so you guys actually want access to this new feature? So picky!

Let me see if I can figure out what's going on. I have no problem accessing it on my Pre or Safari.

Tony, it looks like you're using one of the older styles where I took the drop-down box off the page. I'm guessing you have access to it since you have some mod superpowers.

What happens if you guys go to http://priuschat.com/forums/index.php?styleid=6 ?

iPhone - I'm not getting the mobile version from that link. On the main forum page I don't have a style selection. On a subforum I have the style menu but it does not take me to the mobile version when I switch styles.

My iphone is defaulting to the so called iphone style if I go into forums, but I'm not seeing any difference between the 2 styles when I toggle between them.

I'm also experiencing this same issue on my iPhone. Though in Firefox on my laptop I can switch fine and the styleid 6 link works fine as well. Though that link surprisingly appears to do nothing on my iPhone.

Looking forward to the new view though once it's working! Thanks for doing this Danny!

I'll just add a "me too" to the issues people are having. Safari on the iPhone 3GS (OS v. 3.0.1) still looks like a normal Priuschat page.

Also, a request: can't everyone just agree that these mobile sites should have the address format of "m.priuschat.com"? Is that a lot harder to implement than priuschat.com/mobile? One letter is so much easier to type and this really does seem to be the most-favored format right now.

100% agree. The PriusChat.com/mobile is setup only as a temporary thing until I can get the DNS worked out to have m.priuschat.com show properly.

I do see the style dropdown but selecting it does nothing!

I can't get to the mobile forum either. Anything I can do to help?

Also, if you have a chance, don't forget to drop a 75x75 icon called apple-touch-icon.png in the root directory of the site so you get a nice icon if someone saves the bookmark to their home page on a iPhone. It makes the site look really professional.

Thanks for considering us mobile dudes. I can probably visit the site more often with a working mobile site.

I'll join the chorus of iPod touch users who can't see the mobile site. When you get it working I'd be interested if knowing what vbullitin mods/ addins were necessary so I can tell the owners if another forum I read.
Thanks for thinking of us small- screen guys.

Ironically, I can see it in Firefox on a PC, or in Safari on a mac, but not on my iphone. Not sure why I would want this anyway, since the whole point of an iphone is the ability to use the normal websites, which I usually prefer, rather than mobile versions of such websites.

I use a Blackberry, and my navigation has gone down the tubes, since the mobile version is not working for me. Instead, I have a browser view which takes forever to load.

I guess that I won't be doing much reading on the forums until this gets resolved.
