Maybe it's just PriusChat's way of telling me it's time to go to bed, but around 10pm PST, I've noticed things around here get very slow. Pages take forever to load, and posts seem to hang in cyber limbo for much longer than usual. Other sites seem fine, so it's not my connection. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there some server maintenance done about that time?

There might be some scheduled heavy cron runs that go around that time. I'll check into it and see.

Yep, it's been this way for quite awhile.

I haven't noticed the problem. All of the important parts of the country are in bed at that time. :D

Yeah, Tom, I've heard older people need more sleep. :p

edit: Is there a 'sorry' button, to go along with the 'thanks' one? Sorry, Tom, I knew you were only teasing. I should know better than to hit you back. :sorry:

I am in the UK and using the forum this morning has been an incredibly slow and painful process :(

The main header of the web page loads almost instantly, but the topic section is loading incredibly slowly or not at all. Several times I have had to press the stop button in the browser and then the refresh to get the page to load fully. Sometime I have had to do it 3 or 4 times to get the page to load. I have tried just leaving to see if it loads, but it doesn't. As soon as the header is displayed the brower displays "done"

I have tried on FireFox and IE with the same results. Also in the evening it can be slow too, but I have not experienced it as bad as I have today.

Also, when viewing pictures in a post it jumps to the start of the post again when closing the pictures off :(

I have deleted all my cookies to see if that made a difference, but to no avail.

Any ideas... I love this forum, but the slowness is really frustrating.

Scheduled server maintenance I would guess. Lots of sites are like that if there is only 1 host location.

When the top of the page loads, and then there is a delay, it is often caused by the advertisement on the page. These are served from a different set of servers, and sometimes they are really slow.

I'm not sure about your web browser, but on my Linux version of Firefox it shows what is loading in the lower left corner on the status line. Sometimes you can use that to see what is causing the slowdown.
