All right then! I am going to try to make it. I'm a newly transplanted South Dakota Prius living in Harrisburg, PA. I've been here a whopping 2 months and am excited about a Prius meet-up. I formed a Hybrid club 'back home' for 3 years before moving east. hope ya won't mind me coming over. Looks to be a 2 1/2 hour drive per Google maps. any driving/route advice?

Would you believe my schedule is clear?Keyport is only a short hop north for me, so I should be there (barring unforeseen circumstances).

You can all come out and see what an un-modified, yet filthy, Prius looks like.

Well, they did by me; I got called last night to help set up a shelter in a local church for the people they were trying to evacuate in the lower-lying areas in town. Ran into roadblocks a lot today on the job...

BarM - the roads were all flooded around here. Fortunately, this is a tidal flood plain and designed to shed water... everything retuns to normal within a few days.

What a beautiful weekend.

Drove by the Blue Rock too check out the outdoor deck and see if the storm had any ill effect on the joint.

The only problem I detected from the storm was the staff still bemoaning the wait to get home... high tide had them water bound.

The deck has new stools finally and is officially open for the season. While having a Sam Adams and chomping on a burger I tallied 2 great egrets, one bald eagle, one blue heron, one turkey buzzard, 6 -10 loons, seaguls and a sign that notes "Absolutely no Colors allowed. (This is a biker term.)"

Please be aware that Prius colors will not be tolerated. ;-) (I think the sign is left over from a previous era.)

If nothing weird happens, which it might-

I HAVE to be at work in Atlantic City by 3 pm..... can I come by at noon , say hello, and make it to work?????

Well, Mapquest estimates the drive time from Keyport to AC at about an hour-and-a-half. So you definitely have a shot. If the weather's like this past weekend, though, you could get stuck on the Parkway with all the Benny's trying for some early season sun.

If you're referring to the "No Colors Allowed" being from a previous era - possibly not. This is to avoid confrontations between rival motorcycle clubs (Hell's angels being the most notoriously known MC) and believe me, these confrontations are alive and well. I belong to a motorcycle Riding club, which differs greatly from a MC, but we are warned sometimes by our national chapter about even wearing our riding club patches in certain events/bars. It's a territory thing....

Good question. From the replies it looks like Donna, Rand, Smitty and I will definitely be there. Barb might try to say hello before she has to bolt for AC (she says it's for work, but slots don't really take that much effort. So I'm a little skeptical. ).

nyconrad was thinking of coming out from LI. Don't know if finman is still thinking of making the lengthy trip from Harrisburg or not.
