I am having a hard time finding a Blizzard pearl with sunroof in California. How come Toyota won't offer this option here? I am dissapointed because I really wanted one :eek:hwell:. Has anybody from California try to get a Prius with solar sunroof out of the state? Thanks

I think they are just all sold. Dianne had one a few weeks back in her listing under Dealers and Pricing.

I have the impression dealers just can't get them this way yet. Production issue. I live in Hawaii. The options are determined by the over-riding authority of local Prius dealerships. So, if "Hawaii Prius" does not offer something as an option, dealer really can't order it.

Here, you can't get the feature that keeps you in lane. They knew Hawaii roads are narrow, lack markings, often don't have shoulders, often bumper to bumper in soe areas. Our roads and are funky, period. You might think those are good reasons to have it; but I think the thought was it would constantly be kicking in to much annoyance. Really, here, you will most likely be airborne, flipped over, and down in rough lava right as it kicks in. I live in an area where the helicopter has to come get you out of the car and sometimes assist with removal of your totally totaled car.

Our Priuses come direct from Japan.

I got my IV-SR pretty much the day they became available in CA, without pre-ordering or putting down a deposit. Dealers may have just run out so keep looking.

About 10 days ago, I saw a 2010 Model 4, Blizzard Perl, with sunroof at the Toyota Dealer in Eureka, CA.

    Kieth

P.S. they were asking over $30k including "market adjustment"

Bruno S purchased a Classic Silver one w/ SR in San Diego early this month. Might want to ask him where he got his?

This probably doesn't help you, but Hanlee's in Davis says they have a Red IV with solar roof. I'm trying to find a Blue IV with the solar roof but Magnussen in Auburn says they're extremely rare.

I was at two dealers in SoCal this weekend and both said the production of the solar panels used on the sunroof takes a long time and is backed up quite a bit. They have a few but there wouldn't be many anytime soon.
I also had an odd comment from one dealer who said if you wanted a sunroof that was fine but don't buy it because of the solar panels and fan. He didn't find them very effective. You don't hear a dealer say something like that often.

    blizzard with sunroof in California?

If you need a III with a sunroof, they are scarce as hen's teeth truthfully. I do have 'em in other colors coming, but no whites right now.
Last one I got out of a dealership in another state... but they are trickling into SoCal (finally) and betcha I can get you one. Just email me or why not call me. You may meet with resistance from others who don't see one coming or think they can get one with trading partners slim.
I work on the premise that I have to MAKE one come in if I have someone's deposit. Not everyone feels that way.
I have had deposits for blizzard sunroof IV's and III's for a few weeks... but if that is what you want, why settle. If you need one soon, just call me. A III with sunroof and mats MSRP's at $27550 + 220 white pearl paint = 27,770.
    My #'s are below!

:(....... unless the salesman meant to dissuade you from the sunroof so that he could stuff you into what he has versus what he doesn't want to go find. Ahem.

    Hi Fred,

Yes, they were asking an additional "market adjustment" amount over all the other stuff. I don't remember exactly what it was since I wasn't seriously shopping for a version 4.

Fred, according to his left margin wants, he wants a III with sunroof. Not a IV. :)

At this point I can't be picky. Either a III or IV works for me. I just want to have a white with solar sunroof and nav. Thanks

Mossy has a Blizzard IV with SP and Nav in stock now. $30.5K with a few factory installed trinkets: Prius bumper decal, wheel locks and fancy carpets. Go get it.

BTW Don't buy the extended warranty yet.

    Dianne,

You are right - the OP wants a III.

I was quoting and replying to "Tech Guy" who said there was a IV Solar Blzzy for $30K, a price i inferred from his post included an MVA. I was merely pointing out that $30K for a IV solar blzzy was MSRP and asking was there an MVA on top.

I was curious because i HOPE TO TAKE DELIVERY SATURDAY of my IV Blzzy Pearl Solar, which i believe I will name Blizzy, kind of like Ozzy (Osbourne) but with more brains.

I may have been the lucky guy that snagged Dianne's Blizzard Pearl IV with sunroof about 10 days ago. Just got back from vacationing with it and the family and am extremely happy with the car so far. Now that summer has hit I can recommend the solar sunroof. It's not cool when you get in the car but it's never sweltering hot either and cools down quickly. I think it's worth the wait.
