How long did it take between the time you got your "Last email" from Toyota and when the car actually showed up at the dealer?

My last email from Toyota, saying my car was on the way to the dealer, was sent on 3/13. The dealer said the delivery window was 3/13 - 3/16. I figure I just need to be patient but the wait is driving me crazy.

At this point you should call the dealer and find out where the car is. If the dealer gives you the run around, call the Toyota Customer Care center and ask them to get you an update.

    Final email came on 2/28...
PIP arrived at the dealership on 3/17, and I picked it up on 3/18...

    I was like - :couch2: - for a while....

    Well, the dealer has been very consistent with their updates;

"It is not on the grounds"

It must be the floor mats I ordered that is slowing things down. :p

I ordered from Maita in Sacramento on 11/17; confirmed on 11/19; built 3/8; shipped 3/12. I am absolutely OBSESSED with all this waiting! I want my car! I cannot believe the ship goes to Benecia first (so close!) and continues on to SoCal only to be loaded onto a truck and driven up to Sacramento. My son in SoCal had my 2006 Prius; I drove down and gave him my 2009 Prius; I will try to sell my 2006 or trade it in on my 2012. My level 2 charger is installed and my personalized plates are on order. I am so ready! BTW, what's all this talk about swag bags? I love swag!

Jozo, your car will get dropped off at Benecia. Mine shipped the 12th as well so I think our cars are on the Indiana Highway together, drinking umbrella drinks by the pool.

Based on how long it is taking to get cars from Benicia you might actually net out a shorter time by having it go through Long Beach.

My car shipped on 2/12, offloaded at Benicia on 2/25, and was ready for pickup on 3/1. The only port options I had were the door edge guards and floor mats.

vintagebob: get the VIN from your dealer and then call the Toyota Customer Care number and find out from them what happened to your car. If the dealer can't, or won't supply the VIN, the Toyota Customer Care folks should have all that info as well.

    Thanks Dev!

The dealer claims that they now have the car so hopefully everything will be resolved tonight when I go to pick it up. :D

Cars going to Bakersfield and below come to Long Beach.
Cars going to Fresno and NORTH of Fresno use the Port of SF = Benicia.

Sacramento cars will strop at Benicia. They won't get to Long Beach. Not the PHEVS.

I am seriously considering taking Tuesday off from work if 'my ship comes in' so that I can road trip the hour over to Benicia and watch. How fun would that be!? Anyone else in the Sacramento area wanna come join me for a tailgate at the Port of Benicia if the Indiana Highway floats in around lunchtime?

If INDIANA HIGHWAY keeps to its schedule (ETA: 2012-03-27 11:00 UTC) , it will get in at 11-7 = 4am PDT on Tuesday. You sure you want to be there at 4 in the morning?

a lot of times the actual arrival depends on the availability of harbor pilots, how much marine traffic is going in and out of the bay, etc.

if you are really dedicated then once INDIANA HIGHWAY comes back into range, just keep tracking it. on tuesday morning just get up and see if by some chance it's still headed in to the bay, and then head over to benicia. pyxis made port about 12 hours after it was scheduled to, so there is hope.

Since these ships travel the world, they have to use a standard time (UTC). Sometimes they put "(UTC)" after the time, a lot of times they don't.

My car was on the PYXIS and the weather was bad, so it arrived several hours late. The ETA is a SWAG. It could get there before or after the ETA. The ship will come into view 4 or 5 hours before it gets to Benicia. That will give you time to get over there to see it come into the dock, if that's what you want to do. You probably won't see much if it's dark.

Did you use marinetraffic.com to see when it was in range of port? Indiana Highway is not showing up on the "radar" yet.

Yep. Sure did. Indiana Highway is about a day away from coming into view.
Right now the date-time is 2012-03-26 03:00 UTC.
    Its ETA at Benicia is
US BNC ETA: 2012-03-27 11:00 UTC
