    Hello guys,

I did my first oil change yesterday and noticed that the oil pan door was not there...
Not sure why but I did all my (Toyota care, free) services in dealership before.

Searched online and found some just drive without this cover but I am kind of worry about those electrical parts (I think they are somehow water-resistant, but maybe better keep those parts away from water?)

Oh, and too bad that I did several car washes and they all offer under-body wash... (hopefully no damage done to those parts)

I was thinking about getting a oil pan cover online and install it my self, found one on Amazon, wonder if this is the right cover and does anyone happen to know the part number of the cover (if the one I found is incorrect) and those clips?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Here's the Amazon link...

Seems like PC doesn't allow me to post Amazon links.
    Here's the item description:

your first link works fine. you may want to ask your dealer what happened to it, they usually break them and it's their responsibility to fix it. thanks for the heads up though, i better look under my car.

It's interesting that someone's selling just that flap now.

If you always remove the whole cover, that damage doesn't happen. But with dealership doing oil changes, they (naturally enough) bend back the flap. And due to Toyota's lousy plastic spec, it breaks.

thanks bisco, for some reason I can't even see the link on my PC... 0.0?
I will try to contact dealer, but my last service was months ago, and I really doubt they will say it's their fault...
All dealership around my area doesn't have very good customer service mindset, imho

That (linked) cover Seems like a mod from the original hinged flap, I'd guess the edge with two holes goes over the hinge zone, by an inch or so. You put in the original fasteners along the 3 hoke edge, then drill through the other two holes and use 2 new push-in fasteners.

    Interesting solution.

Actually NOT sure if there's any correlation. Backside of the linked replacement cover:

And my original. Picture taking on a bit of an angle, so foreshortened a bit:

Link works on my iphone with safari, not on PC with Internet Explorer. And I can't seem to cut-and-past either.

In the EBay add, checking compatibility, it says that piece is Right Lower. I'm thinking my pic above is Left Lower, the opposite side, the piece at corner of bumper, connects to wheel well liner.

But every cloud...: a replacement oil flap that overlapped the hinge zone and had a couple more fasteners, would be a good idea, lol.

Thanks for all those inputs guys, seems like it is a little more difficult to find the right part, now I'm kind of afraid about going to those car wash places, but if anyone know the correct part number and/or perhaps where to get it, I will really appreciate.
I will update this thread if I found anything useful in case someone needs it.

The only part I know of is the WHOLE engine underpanel. There's the official Toyota one, for maybe $250~300. Also some clones, for somewhere between $50 and $100. The latter are bare I think, don't include sound deadening (or insulation).

If you get the kosher one, and NEVER use that hinged flap, remove the whole panel, it'll last forever.

    Updated with underpanel pdf

I had the oil changed on my Prius at my Toyota dealer. About 2 months later I looked under the car and the cover was missing. The Toyota dealer would do nothing about it. I wrote to Toyota Corporate and they told me to take it to the dealer of my choice, get it replaced, send them a receipt and they would reimburse me which they did. I bought 4 new TOYOTAS from that lousy dealer. Needless to say I changed dealers. At my new dealer I bought a new Avalon Hybrid XLE Touring. I emailed my previous dealer and told them about the sale they missed. It was gratifying to have the last word.

The ones in the beginning of this thread are for the sides of the engine, behind the front wheels. The whole cover does not need to be removed for oil changes, but, if you don't want your oil change flap/door to fall off, you need to make sure you don't fold it all the way back. Part number you need is 51410-12105.

Too true! Hats off to the guys that go the extra mile. We had tree fallers in yesterday and today (hear them? ;)).

Anyway, they swung by today, just to buck the larger stuff into fireplace length, which was above-and-beyond.

We go out to have a look after, they'd left this:
