freakin awesome .... Carbon nanotubes will get us into space too.. hold on for a bumpy ride...

Nothing new here. Carbon nanotubes have great promise. But this is just one more article telling us that. Wake me up when I can buy a car using them.

I've duplicated this before when cleaning out my fireplace, by rubbing paper towels against the back I've impregnated the paper with millions upon millions of carbon nanotubes... unfortunately I threw away all my research and never saw how well it worked as a battery.

We don't need no stinking tubes to run our Prius.......

Nanotechnology is quite scary. While there are some wonderful possibilities in nanotech applications, the lack of funding for studies on adverse effects and the neglect of regulatory laws concerning research and development are rather worrisome. Keep in mind that nano-sized particles are easily spread through air and water and can be breathed in or absorbed through bare skin. The size of the particles aids in rapid movement thoughout the body and they are usually only detectable through and atomic microscope.

So as with nearly every other technological breakthrough we've unveiled, we must be wary of the "side effects". Unfortunately, from what I've read on the subject, we are following the same path we always have. Invent andmass produce first, then try to patch of the problems later. :(
