I picked-up my 2010 IV SR on Thursday, and am very happy with it (though I was still sad to trade-in my '07)

I was able to connect my Treo 755P, and uploaded my phone book with no problem. I then added some of the numbers to Speed Dial. The next day I drove to work, used the phone, and everything was fine. But when I was on my way home, I hit the off-hook, and the 'Speed Dial' button was not active. The next time I was stopped I hit the 'Contact List' button, and got a message that I had no contacts loaded, and did I want to add some. When I got home I uploaded my phone book again, and added the speed dial numbers again. A few days went by with no problem, but then on Monday the numbers disappeared again.

The Bluetooth connection continued to work (I never had to resync it), and if I initiate a call from the phone, it immediately connects via hands-free. But twice now the contacts have disappeared. My NAV presets are still there, so it's not that all the memory is being erased.

I was bringing the car in Thursday already to have them apply the Xzilion coating, so I called today and they're going to take a look at it, though I'm not thrilled with the idea of them pulling the dashboard apart. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I had the NAV/Bluetooth in my '07 and never had a problem with it losing numbers. :(

Whenever this happens, pull over to the side of the road and stop the car. Get out and walk all the way around the car once. Get back in and re-boot the car.

If this doesn't help, you need a firmware upgrade.

What? You mean that "Prius" spelled backwards (Suirp) is not the code name for the next Microsoft major release????

On mine I paired up my iPhone 3G, copied the phonebook across, setup speed dials ok. When my iPhone is connected - all ok.

I then paired my work Nokia phone, and the phonebook has all gone.

When I switch between devices the phonebook entries appear and then dissappear (always there for iPhone, always blank when Nokia is attached.)

Does this mean the Phonebooks are unique to each Bluetooth device?

In the Gen II you had one common phonebook across all devices which made far more sense to me!

That may be a clue. The first time it happened I had a similar thought in the back of my mind, because I saw my device name was at the top of the display, which I didn't remember seeing when I first paired them. I wondered if it had picked-up the phone name, and since it changed started a new phone book. But now they've disappeared again, even though the device name was the same.

I don't remember seeing anywhere to disable multiple phonebooks, but maybe there's a hidden screen where that can be done. I'm off to the dealer, so I'm going to ask them about that.

    Thanks!

I'd expact different phone books for different devices. Why would I want to share phone books with my wife's work cell phone? I don't want to talk to her boss...LOL

I have an iPhone 3GS and it copied my contacts flawlessly! HOWEVER, there appears to be a 1000 contact limitation as when the initial transfer completed, the system informed that it was unable to copy all of my contacts beyond 1000! BUMMER!!!!!

Just a quick update: it's been about 3 weeks, and I haven't had the problem again. The dealer was supposed to look at it when I had the car in, though when I picked it up nobody could tell me what, if anything, had been done about it. So maybe they fixed it, or maybe the problem went away on its own (or is still lurking.)

I have been having similar problems with my new Prius 2010 with the Tech package (Canada). I have manually added a few contacts and after a couple of days, the Contact list comes up empty again. So far, I have just stubbornly added a new set of contacts, and they seem to last a couple of days, and then suddenly disappear again. I have not even tried to add contacts from my cell phone ... all of this relates to simply manually adding contacts and speed dial entries.

    Anybody else have this problem?

I have the same problem, set up contacts, make calls and set up voice tags.
phonebook is available for some time and then the contact list disappears.
Asked the dealer, they are going to look into it for me but I'm concerned as they currently haven't a clue about most the techy stuff.

lat me know if you get a fix

Seems each contact list is tied to the profile of a given phone.
Make sure you don't delete your phone as it will delete the contact list for that phone too.

But it sounds like some firmware upgrades are in order for several things.
Hopefully they will fix many other bugs too.

I'm just not sure who you have to sleep with to get them.

Prius 10 and iPhone 3gs pairing - but where's the tunes?

Pairing my wife's iPhone 3gs to her brand new Prius 10 was a piece of cake. She can make a receive calls on the road now with her iPhone in her purse. Great.

But what about the tunes? There doesn't seem to be a way to pair the iPod portion of the phone to stream tunes and audiobooks. I figured with Bluetooth stereo pairing now enabled, that would be the best way to listen to those 16 gigs of stuff, but the "BT" option in the Prius' audio settings is dimmed and I can't figure out how to wake it up.

Anyone have any solutions or does she have to use her iPod classic to plug in to the Prius separately through the MP3 connector? I was hoping to avoid wires - that's SO fin-de-siecle!

Re: Prius 10 and iPhone 3gs pairing - but where's the tunes?

There is a separate setup for bluetooth audio devices. Even though you've set up the iphone as a phone, you also have to set it up as a a music player. It seems to help if the passcode for both devices is set to the same code. Try following the steps in this post:

The phonebooks for the Gen III Nav are unique to the bluetooth phone. My wife, my son and I have phones set up in Bluetooth. We each have different phonebooks.

If you are connecting to one phone and expecting to see a phonebook of another phone, it will not work that way.

Any updates on this issue of contact lists disappearing? This is a common occurance on our 2010. My wife is not happy. Have not gone to the dealer yet.

Since the dealer 'looked at it' (no idea what, if anything, was done) I've not had this problem again. I did switch phones a while back, so I had to re-upload my numbers, but they've not disappeared on their own (knock wood.)
