On my new Prius, I am averaging 46 miles per gallon. Yet when I display the fuel consumption history display, it reads 13.9 MPG.

I've read the owner's manual and it does not clearly explain how this number is computed. Can someone please explain what this number is telling me?

    Thanks.

I reset the best ever and what I learned indicates the best is best of the currently calculated histories shown on the MIF for both Trips A and B. You may need to reset one of the Trips to make it appear after reset, as I recall. It says it's the best "at the previous meter reset" so your display may not have updated if you have not reset A or B.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Yes, I reset both my A and B trips and now the BEST shows much higher numbers. Thanks for the info!
