PLEASE RESPOND ASAP! Is my child being poisoned by a 2005 Prius?

    A month ago, my daughter inherited a 2005 Prius (with 71k miles) from her grandmother after she died from brain & lung cancer. I'm wondering if it was the Prius that killed her! The car absolutely STINKS from a chemical smell coming from the back near the battery. The smell is like a hundred cheap air fresheners all at once. Our garage stinks from the car, even if the windows are open half way. I won't let my 16 year old in the car, because anyone that drives in it feels light headed and dizzy when they get out, unless all 4 windows are down. The plastic vent in the back stinks, as do the carpet mats I took out, and even a towel that was in the trunk area. I took the car to a Toyota dealership in Irvine, CA. The service mgr told me he hates Prius's, and to dump it for a Honda or drive around with a big bowl of charcoal in the back! After I posted that online, the dealership manager is now willing to fix the car for free. But what do I ask them to do? Does this sound like the battery vent tubes I've read about in some posts? I have doubts the dealership wants anything but for me to take my lousy Yelp comment offline. Please write with suggestions!

    Come on now let's be real...who in their right mind would even set themselves up with such a negative profile name, even if it were a real Prius owner with such an issue? I think what stinks is this troll.

    ...well it reminds me of a relatively recent thread where a guy was mistakenly putting water in his maintenance -free 12v AGM lead-acid battery in the back, and it was bubbling over and destroying the back of the car.

    Assuming the original poster is not a hoax, whatever is going there is highly unusual and car should be immediately towed to a competent repair shop for review of 12v and HV battery.

    I seriously doubt a Toyota service manager would tell a customer to "dump the Prius" and go buy a Honda! Incredible!
