It was all about the carpool lane sticker to save about 30 mins each day on my commute.
I looked at PIP, Leaf & Model-S. PIP seemed most practical.

I need to come up with a new plan before 2015...

Same here. I drive a lot for work, so for me, the California HOV stickers was the main reason for buying a PiP. Hopefully they extend the program beyond 2015.

Still, I love the PiP. I thought my 2007 Gen2 was a great car, the PiP is way better.

For my case with the new incredible lease program that just came out August it was a no brainer for me to Jump from leasing a Non pip to a PIP. basically only will cost me 8x36=288 more then the THREE model i was aiming to lease.

    couldnt be happier!:p

Agreed , for me as of a few days ago I could not justify the large increase in payment cost. However I did not even look into the PIP and its abilities, as this is my first Prius i was excited to just be going Hybrid(three model) and not having to drive my dodge ram hemi as often! Even the GTI getting 30mpg was starting to feel poor after borrowing a family members 06 gen 2 prius and seeing the 46mpg ! Got me leaning hybrid real fast.....then to learn about the PIP in the last few days has got me just pumped!

    :D
