the dealer in dallas told me that the "port factory leather was better" due to some sealent or something. was thicker etx.

this would be to get the II package with leather only upgrade at the port.

how does this compare to the leather in the IV package?

The package IV leather seats have power lumbar support for the drivers seat and both front seats are heated.

It's electrically powered by a switch on the side of the seat by the seat height adjuster which is a manual adjuster.

Do it aftermarket. Get the seats you want (and lumbar and heating put in) and save some money. You will easily get at least the IV quality leather, and definitely be able to surpass it. If you are willing to spend the $2K they are going to charge you, you can have superior quality leather put in. Just take your time and find the right shop. Call around (Bentley, Ferrari, etc) and ask who they recommend. Inspect the work and see the samples. This is your car and your money, you deserve the best.

On the other hand if you don't have the time and patience to shop around, I'm sure the port leather will be just fine.
