I installed an AIMS 2000W power inverter in my 2011 Prius and it is working well. Attached is a PDF with links and pictures of the process.

I was inspired by the thread started by AHetaFan: My install and review of the AIMS Prius 2kW Pure Sine Wave Inverter for Backup Power Generator | PriusChat

What I tried to do in the guide is to provide a comprehensive consolidated parts list with sources along with some of the finer details and photos of the process I used to do the installation. It is not difficult to perform the installation, it just takes time and care.

I hope you folks find it helpful!

Excellent detailed report. I was also inspired by AHetaFan' s installation.

I have been fortunate and have not needed to use mine but it is comforting to know that I am prepared if the need does arise.

I like the 240 VDC inverter due to the simplicity of the installation and small cable sizes.

Nice write up!....thanks for the great guide too!
Started my project and waiting on fuses and plugs.
I put a piece of heavy foam to tuck away the inverter in the storage area above tire and fits great....surprised me.
I also noticed the strap that was there for a car seat from Toyota.....works great to mount out of way and usable.
    What do you guys think?
    Thanks,
    Dave
