Thinking about upgrading from a 2011 Model 3, no nav/backup camera, etc to a loaded 2013 Model 5. The dealer gave me $30k price for the new car, not including trade. My 2011 has 23K miles. Is $30K a good deal? Any idea what my "excellent" condition 2011 will give me?

Toyota prius sales are down 20% for December 2013 vs. 2012. There is excess inventory for the new 2013 models.

You can get a new one for $30k, so hopefully that's what you are referring to. Here in CA, we have people buying 2013 models at $5000 discount off MSRP. That's $4000 off the car, plus the $1000 rebate the factory is offering.

Based on that, you can probably get a Prius Five with Advanced Technology for close to $30k. That car with ATP should MSRP at around $35000

Thanks for the reply. Yes, they quoted $30K for a new 2013, Five with 17" wheels, nav, camera, etc. I guess they'll only give me $15K for my 2011, Three. Don't think I can afford $15K to upgrade now. Guess I was hoping to get the new one for $25K and get a little more for my trade. Thanks.

right now, with gas prices low, they're giving nothing for trade in's, and yet, not discounting new that much either. bad time to buy or sell.

The Prius Five has an options package that's called Advanced Technology Package. That package is $5000. I'm assuming you are getting quoted $30,000 for one with the Advanced Technology Package. Otherwise, the price of the car would be close to $30,000 MSRP without that package.

Thanks for the info. Yes, the price for the 2013, Model 5 was $30K with the Adv. Tech. package. I guess that's a good price based on what I've seen elsewhere.

Plus you can possibly get $1000 rebate on top, it depends on which part of the country you're in.
