I've started working on the PriusChat Shop's Prius c section and so far I've added all of the OEM Toyota items that have shown up in Toyota's stock system so far: 2012 Prius c Accessories : PriusChat Shop I'll keep adding things over time, and if you see anything that you want us to stock, please post it here or PM me. Thanks for supporting PriusChat through your purchases in the PriusChat Shop!
Any chance Toyota will be coming out with a foglight kit to retrofit into the Prius c trim levels 1-3?
Went to the dealer to order touchup paint and rear bumper protector and mudflaps. No mudflaps from Toyota. They are going to call their parts distribution person on California to check for sure but does not look like they are going to have them for the C
The c is very new, so don't expect too many aftermarket goodies for a little while. They will show up eventually. Should have mud flaps, especially for anyone in the north where roads are sanded or for anyone that has to travel on unpaved roads. I think they offered them on the Japanese Toyota Prius c Web Site. TireRack doesn't even have any wheels up on their site for the c yet, and they are usually there with wheels and pictures before the new model is out. Not this time. Maybe Danny can eventually get hold of some of these options from Japan? Hope so! Keep writing and asking about it, and maybe someone will notice.
is the "2012 Toyota Prius c Body Side Moldings " in the PriusChat Shop OEM one? or aftermarket one? toyota price is like $2XX and the price here is $1XX.
I don't know, but I'll second your query. I'd be interested, too. My Toyota dealer suggested they may eventually be available aftermarket, but it's just too soon. Tom Prius C Two (Absolutely Red)
I'm looking at universal fog lights w/angel eyes for the C1-3 (3.15" dia.). Some have hooked the angel eyes for daylight and both for night: Halogen - https://store.ijdmtoy.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=OT_PROJECTOR_SKU73&ID=316&yes=yes HID - http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Projector-HID-Fog-Light-Lamp-with-CCFL-Angel-Eye-p/ot_projector_sku76.htm Do you think they will fit?
doesn't look like it.. Toyota's been very meticulous with trim options... basically, if you want something.. you have to buy the trim that has it. even if you somehow get a hold of the foglights from a trim 4.. you're not going to be able to easily wire it into a vehicle that's a trim 1-3.. i don't doubt it is impossible... but you're not going to be able to get it done easily... believe me.. i've tried looking for a way to do it too... and i'm the type of person who not only researches a lot.. but has connections with Toyota. even a majority of the current accessories that are listed aren't available in the parts system yet.
Thanks, SquallLHeart. The reason I ask is that I could retrofit a foglight kit for an 07 Honda FIT base model and the kit from Honda included the foglights and new turn signal stalk. The wiring harness that was installed in the base model already contained the plugs to accept the new kit. I assumed Toyota would be the same way. Bad assumption, I assume?
Just ordered my Habanero 3 and the thing that disappointed me about the C is that the hidden storage area is filled with styrofoam rather than a usable storage area. Does anyone know of someone making a tray for this area like in the Gen 2s? I need space to store my grocery bags!
In the past I've seen Toyota cars pre-wired like you mentioned... however I haven't dug far enough to see if that actually is the case. I've been told by my contacts in Toyota that they don't pre-wire the car anymore.. and actually make different wiring harnesses to prevent such modifications from being done. if so... that would really suck... I want to actually double check by tearing into the vehicle itself to make sure that wiring is indeed non-existent.. but haven't gotten a chance to do so yet. it probably won't stop someone from fabbing something up to make it work though... hasn't stopped me before for certain modifications.. (granted there are a few that are more tied into the ECU, which would obviously be close to impossible to deal with) hooking up fog-lights? not impossible indeed, but how easy it'll be is still questionable.. maybe you have to add wires.. or not? i'll try to find out.
I find it hard to believe that Toyota would make a different wiring harness for only the level 4 Prius c, which has the fog lights. Anything you could find out would be appreciated.
I called a local dealer yesterday just to see how much 15 inch alloys for the C would be and they wanted I think it was $350 A Peice!! I know as an option they were $390 for all four. Looks like I'll stick with the old hubcaps cause it's not that important.
I was curious - will the Toyota Prius Navigation Speed Lock Override work with non-entune navigation systems? I ended up getting the C2 and from past experiences with my Camry, other aftermarket head units also blocked out functions while the vehicle was in drive and/or if the parking brake was not engaged. I would like to install an aftermarket navigation unit, and if this kit is specific to a C, I'm hoping this is the right kit. Any help would be appreciated!
