I got my wife a Prius C3 last week. We are trying to figure out why the trip summary screen only comes up sometimes when we shut the car off? Can't seem to find the right combo to get it to come up all the time. I have a 2012 Prius 3 and the screen always comes up when I shut the car off. We have looked in the owners manual with no luck and our dealer knows nothing about the C's. Anybody else have this problem?
I beleve it won't show up if you hold your brakes and shut your engine off (with a push button) at the same time. Try to release your brakes first and then shut your engine off.
That works!! My Prius 3 I have the habit of just hitting the off botton and not the park botton, so my foot is on the brake. The C you have to put it in park first then the press off botton and I still have my foot on the brake. Thanks!!
I am glad that I could help you out. That's exactly what I do. I keep the brakes depressed, then put it in parking, then release my brakes and then shut down the engine and I have the summary screen all the time.
I am also still in the habit of going directly for the power button before putting it in park. I miss that screen sometimes too when I do that. You would think it would be easy to retrain yourself, I mean I also drive my motorcycle, and at work on the weekends I drive 4 different school busses, a silverado, an astro van, and a Transit bus, its not like the Prius is the only thing I drive - maybe someday I will stop shutting the car off still in Drive, thanks for the details as to why this screen is sometimes absent.
