Prius is once again the National Sponsor of the Asthma Walk

    American Lung Association Asthma Walk

    Toyota is pleased to announce that the Prius is once again the National Sponsor of the American Lung Association's Asthma Walk to raise funds and awareness for asthma. Approximately 150 Asthma Walk events will take place through spring 2004 across the country, to support the large numbers of people affected by asthma in the U.S. The Asthma Walk is part of the American Lung Association's nationwide "Blow the Whistle on Asthma" effort to bring attention to this devastating and chronic illness.

    Sounds like a great way for local PC groups to get involved

    I don't see any Asthma Walks listed for my local area yet but I'm definitely going to give the local office a call. This might also be a good opportunity to raise the awareness level for PC at our local dealers since this is an official Toyota sponsored event as well. It would be great if our newly formed local clubs could help out with volunteering, walking, fund-raising, etc. as well as show off a small to medium fleet of Prii at the event.

    I just called the number for my local (Northern Virginia) Lung Association and she said they were originally planning an event for the fall but it fell through due to staffing changes, etc. The new plan is for a Spring 2005 event; I gave her my name and e-mail so I can get updates. I'll try calling other regional offices next week.

    There's one in Parkersburg, WV on July 10 (Parkersburg, WV Asthma Walk); anyone up for a road trip? I'd be willing if a handful of others were committed.

    Pennsylvania has 4 walks scheduled for the fall:
