I'm afraid there's nothing about the state of the battery in the test car in the article, just an explanation of how it never completely charges or discharges the battery, and some other reasons not to be afraid of having the battery in there ("Keine Angst vor der Batterie). The Germans have figured out how to calculate the CO2 emissions that a car causes during its entire life cycle, including materials, manufacturing and recycling. The article shows the Prius emits less CO2 that an Avensis Diesel (similar to a Camry).

well i did save a copy of the pic and the battery pack is on lower right side. it has the radiator to its lower right and the circulation fans to its lower left.
